Activity 901 (2): My Second Literature Source Evaluation

In my second research of publishing on the web articles i will consider how web publishing technologies might be useful in helping the general public.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • YouTube is a website in which one is able to view and upload music videos, TV clips and movie clips.
  • The website was created by 3 former pay-pal employees which means that it’s something relatively sophisticated to create but simple to use because of how smart they must be.
  • The website is now owned by Google.inc
  • Unregistered users can view almost 90% of videos uploaded but registered users can view all videos.
  • Uploading pornography or anything to do with nudity of that sort is generally not allowed and will be taken down automatically.
  • Because of the fact that YouTube uploads almost anything children or young adults watch violence videos, corruption videos, animal abuse
  • YouTube is international and has a website for 19/20 of the World’s largest countries including the UK, Spain, Mexico, Brazil. Canada and so on
  • The size of the video and the audio though are limited and mustn’t exceed that amount
  • YouTube usually supports almost any type of Video Player for example Real Player, Windows Media Player, Div X, Win Amp and so on
  • The audio though must be of mp.3 format
